Guest Checks and Order Pads Buying Guide

Just Checking!

A server at a fine dining restaurant has just taken his customers orders. Unfortunately, he didn’t write them down and halfway to the kitchen has forgotten whether the customer in the corner of the booth wanted her steak medium rare or medium well done. This is an easy mistake to make, after all, not only do servers have to remember drink and food orders, but they also have to remember the specifics of those orders. For example, a customer orders a side of fries as a substitute for salad, or a hamburger without onions or relish. It can be hard to rely on memory when working as a server, which is why guest checks can be a waitress or waiters best friend.

CiboWares offers a wide variety of guest checks; booked, loose, carbonless, etc. to fit all of your serving needs. To help you decide which guest check is right for your restaurant, we’ve constructed a list to make your decision as easy as 1, 2, 3.

Things to Consider

Multi Copy Guest Checks
are checks that have 2 or 3 parts. When the server writes on the first sheet the writing is copied on the others, one copy stays with the server (generally) and the other copies go to the kitchen.

Single Copy Guest Checks are checks that, you guessed it, have only one copy and are ideal for restaurants that have POS (Point of Sale) systems. In these systems servers copy the orders onto the checks and then enter them into the system, eliminating the need to give another hard copy of the order to the kitchen

Board refers to durable, heavier cardboard-like paper.

Booked
guest checks are bound into books, while Loose guest checks are not.
