They work great and look good in a sandwich!
I was in a restaurant enjoying a huge Reuben sandwich which was held together by picks similar to these. Realizing that they were far better than a regular round toothpick for such jobs I ordered some. These are fantastic for wrapping bacon around things. They are much larger than toothpicks but not as big as bamboo skewers. Also they are flat with a nice rounded shape so they don't tear the food. Also being large they are much less likely to be ingested accidently.
